Applied Behavior Analysis Services
ABA is an intensive, structured teaching program in which social and communication behaviors are broken down and rehearsed in their simplest elements. The goal of this treatment is to improve communication, social interaction, self-help skills, and play skills. At Proven Behavior Solutions we provide an intensive and comprehensive model of ABA therapy to all of our clients. Our clients typically receive between 20 and 40 hours of ABA therapy per week. This model allows us to work on skills within multiple development domains and make progress with clients that is unmatched by other, less-intensive models of ABA therapy.
Important Components of a Quality ABA Program:
1. Accurate Assessments and Recurring Reassessments of Progress
The first step in the ABA treatment process is the Assessment, which is a formal evaluation of an individual’s strengths and areas for improvement. It is conducted by one of our highly qualified Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). More information about the assessment process can be found here. In addition to the initial assessment, your child’s BCBA will complete regular reassessments of progress (typically every six months) and will review these reports with you each time. 2. Parental Involvement
We pride ourselves in having an excellent system of communication between our staff and the families we work with. Regular meetings are conducted with parents to communicate each child’s progress and milestones. In addition to an expectation of parent involvement in these meetings, ABA training and education is also a part of the Proven experience.
3. Staff Training
Proven places the same emphasis on the intensity of staff training as it does on the quality of services we provide our clients. Our entire clinical team participates in regular trainings – both hands-on and in the classroom setting. We strive to provide more training and support to our team than any other ABA company in New England.
4. Clinical Supervision
Our BCBAs have smaller-than-average caseloads, allowing them to provide a higher quality of care to our clients and more focused support to our Behavior Technicians (BTs). They are able to visit each client at least once per week to directly supervise staff and make clinical changes quickly when needed. Additionally, all of our BCBAs are assigned to a clinical mentor and meet regularly as a team to collaborate. This ensures that every child’s treatment plan is developed and reviewed with the help of multiple experienced clinicians.
