EXPERTISE. PERSPECTIVE. OUTCOMES.

Speech & Language

Above all else, language is a social tool, and we believe that speech and language intervention should be child and family-centered. We meet each child at his or her current level of functioning and focus on personalized, meaningful goals. It is essential that speech and language skills are generalized to all settings, situations, and communication partners. With this goal at the forefront of our mission, we provide an integrated model of speech and language services. Students receive 1:1 direct speech services combined with a consult-based approach. Our Speech-Language Pathologists collaborate with all providers and partners to ensure an individualized, holistic, and systematic language program.

Foundations clients typically receive speech services 2-3 times per week in a clinical center as part of an integrated treatment approach that complements a child’s ABA programming. Non-ABA clients can also receive services during the week based on therapist availability. Contact us to learn more.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

AAC is the use of low-tech (e.g., PECS or communication boards) and high-tech (e.g., tablet-based speech generating devices) tools and strategies to augment or replace speech. AAC systems support and enable communication—providing children with limited speech a means to accurately and consistently express themselves, while simultaneously supporting speech development. Our SLPs are experts in AAC evaluation and intervention, and can identify and implement the appropriate AAC system for children as needed.
