At Proven Behavior Solutions, we’re always on the lookout for new Behavior Technicians/ABA Therapists to join our team. You don’t need a background in ABA to apply, just relevant experience, the right character, and the motivation to learn. We’ll teach you ABA.
As a best practice, we do not typically hire directly into a full-time role. Staff can expect to start part-time with a single client until schedules and proficiency allow a larger caseload. Full-time opportunities exist for current staff based on job performance and availability.
Job Summary
The Behavior Technician is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans under the close ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This 1:1 direct service to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder occurs in the home, school, or clinical setting using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Example of Duties Include:
- Implementation of all teaching plans and programs developed by the supervising BCBA
- Work directly with clients, providing Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and Natural Environmental Teaching (NET)
- Collection of data for each goal/objective during each session or as frequently as defined in the ABA treatment plan
- Follow behavior plans as designed by the supervising BCBA
- Act as an ambassador for Proven Behavior Solutions and the industry; maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with client’s caregiver(s)
- Communicate any clinical or family concerns to immediate supervisor in a timely manner- Participate in regular staff training
- Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and certification exam, if not previously accomplished
Examples of Administrative Responsibilities:
- Attendance at monthly team & staff meetings
- Completion of daily client notes
Qualifications
- Education (preferred): Bachelors or Associates degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.
- Location: Our service area spans from South Quincy to the Upper Cape, and as far west as Bridgewater. Staff are assigned to regional teams based on their home address so that drive time to a client’s home is no more than 30 minutes. All applicants should be able to commute to North Plymouth or Norwell for monthly training.
- Work Experience: At least two years cumulative experience with Applied Behavior Analysis in a direct service, training, or school-based setting; and/or experience working with children or the special needs population under age 22.
- Availability: Must be available to work a minimum of 2 afternoon sessions (after school hours, approximately 3-6pm) per week. Must provide one Saturday morning of availability every 4-6 weeks. Regular weekend hours are not required, but can be available dependent on the client’s needs.

- Ability to occasionally lift children, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs; lift and arrange meeting room chairs, folding tables, flip charts, projectors, video recorder, boxes of supplies, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; run; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Licenses: Due to the need to travel to-and-from clients’ homes, applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
- Preferred: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and have CPR/BLS.
- All applicants must consent to a criminal background investigation and motor-vehicle record review.
