Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary

The Speech and Language Pathologist is part of an inter-professional team that follows a collaborative treatment model. The speech pathologist provides diagnostic, remedial and consultative services for children with communicative disorders; determines specific needs of children who display speech, language and hearing difficulties.

Essential Job Functions*

  • Complete comprehensive speech and language assessments and ongoing progress reports
  • Plan and develop evidence-based interventions
  • Provide center-based and telepractice direct and indirect speech and language therapy
  • Provide AAC services including assessment, intervention, maintenance, and programming
  • Plan and facilitate social skills groups
  • Complete clinical documentation for ongoing treatment planning and insurance billing
  • Provide consultation and coaching to Behavior Technicians
  • Communicate with parents and other stakeholders regularly
  • Collaborate regularly with BCBAs
  • Providing parent and staff trainings

Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Master’s degree in speech and language pathology from an accredited school required
  • Interest in working within a collaborative ABA model required
  • Experience with working with children with ASD preferred
  • Maintaining a valid MA license; and
  • Follow MA State and ASHA ethical guidelines
  • CPR/BLS preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong organizational skills

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Ability to occasionally lift children, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
